5 Reasons Why Not To Shave Your Head (Pattern Hair Loss)

If you are below the age of 45 then you are aware that for the past 20 years there have been multiple proven methods that not only stop hair loss but also regrow your hair, essentially bringing it back to life.  While many question these methods and wonder if they really work the pro-active ones are walking around with a full head of hair.

When we're out and about we notice so many younger guys with hats on or shaved heads covering up their pattern hair loss.  Having thick, lustrous hair is a thing of beauty but most of the time comes down to genes that have run through the family lines for generations.  Now, we're not saying that you have to have lustrous mane to be noticed, most men look good with a small to medium receding line.  It's natural and can compliment the other features of the face.  (Ex. Jude Law).   So before you plug in the clippers, below are the 5 reasons why not to shave your head.

1. The Shape of Your Head

Yep, some simply don't have a good shaped head to pull off the shaved head look. Guys like Michael Jordan, Kayne West and Jason Statham can pull it off due to the structure and shape of their ears, jawline and overall skull.  If you lack in these areas this one will be hard to pull off successfully.

2. Your Hat Doesn't Make You Look Better

That's right guys and gals.  You may think that by wearing a hat no one will see your hair loss but you're just kidding yourself.  You can't hide behind it your whole life.  Wearing a hat now and then is great but if you're practically at the point of wearing it to bed then seriously...do something about it!  Side note..the hat causing hair loss thing is myth.

3. Quitters Mentality

Woe is me.  "I'm losing my hair so whatever...I'll just shave it 'cause my father lost his hair and my grandfather and uncles the same."  Stop it! Your grandfathers and fathers probably didn't do anything about it because laser therapy was still in testing phases.  You have plenty of opportunity to get your hair back if you still have hair growing.

4. It Won't Cost Me Anything

True it won't but seriously, if you're not spending a few bucks a month on at least preventing your hair loss what are you spending your money on?   All the clothes and gym memberships that costs thousands won't make you look any better if you've got a bald head.

5. Sunburn

Yes, that's correct.  If you have a shaved head you will be attracting a lot of light from the sun.  Just make sure you don't come back to the office with a rosy scalp. Spf 50.
