Your Diet and Hair Loss

Guest blogging by Jenna Phillips

Once upon a time, we ate food in its purest form every single day. We didn’t obsess over calories, labels, or ingredients. We didn’t weigh our portions or write down every bite that went into our mouth.
This time was another era, right around the time the Paleolithic man roamed the earth and ran from saber tooth tigers. He was a lean, mean, fighting machine and his primal movement allowed him the ability to glide up trees and scale boulders.
There wasn’t a single food that slowed him down or gave him diabetes.
If time travel were possible, visitors like high fructose corn syrup-rich foods, overweight 8 year olds, and stressed out/balding men and women would all be alien-like compared to our simple ancestor.
Times have changed, considerably, and so have the things that can kill us or make our hair fall out. Stress (a silent killer) and sugar (one of the most addictive drugs on the planet) are two of the leading causes of inflammation in the body.

Inflammation is one of the leading causes of hair loss

Sad? Scary? Not really. The truth is – you don’t have to be a victim of any disease. The lifestyle choices you make each and every day directly effect your health and well-being. Hate your job? Find another one. Overweight and lethargic? Stop eating junk that poisons your body and go on a power walk outside. Losing your hair? Get more sleep, eat real food, and take action before it’s too late

You CAN turn things around – just do it. Waiting for the right time to change your life will keep you in the exact space you don’t want to be in. I’m so happy I did my research and found a holistic approach to saving my hair. Being a woman and having thinning hair is soooo not cool. Being a guy with a comb-over isn’t awesome either.  Handle your mane and take control of your life. No one else can do it for you.

Love all that is you,
